Air Fries

A good side with just about anything meaty, especially burgers.

Go to the pantry and get

  • 1 pound potatoes (probably three) or two baking russets
Wash, scrub and remove any gross bits but do not peel. Cut each potato longwise into 4 slices. Lay each half a potato (2 slices) down flat and cut each half into 4 slices again so you end up with 16 more-or-less ½ inch fries per potato. Put them in a medium-sized bowl and add
  • a glug or two of oil (not olive)
Shake it all about until the fries are coated with a bit of oil. Then sprinkle on
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Paprika?
  • Italian seasoning?
and shake it all about again. Then place your fries on two fryer trays with a smidge of air space between them. Put them into the fryer and go do something else.

Start up the air fryer for

9 minutes at 400

At the ding knock the fries back into the bowl, give them a good shake, back on the trays, back in the fryer for

9 minutes at 400

All done.
